Castello Monaci Italy

Claire Clarke Weddings is pleased to be announced as the UK Wedding Planner for Castello Monaci, Puglia, Italy.

Following its registration in the Salice Salentino land register in 1500, the history of Castello Monaci began. The castle took its name form the Basilian monks who used it as a place to worship, meditate and give refuge to those who need it.

It is impossible to know exactly when the monastic period of the Castle ended and the feudal one started however, the castle was chosen as a residence for the De Martino family, the Parry Graniger family and finally the Provenzano di Ugento family, whose last heir, Mrs. Memmo, is the present castle’s owner.

In the beautiful region of Salento, Apulia, among centuries-old olive trees and ancient vineyards, Castello Monaci keeps its magical, unaltered charm along with six centuries of history.

Only a 40 minute drive from Brindisi airport Castello Monaci is set in the rolling countryside of Salento.

The private road leading to Castello Monaci is lined with ancient trees and vineyards as far as the eye can see with the road opening up to a castle unlike any other.

With the option to hold your wedding either inside surrounded by the history of the castle walls or among the perfectly landscaped gardens, Castello Monaci can accommodate weddings from 20- 500 guests.

For those looking for a ceremony to take place at the castle as well, a licence is held for civil rite ceremonies or alternatively, we’d love to assist with the planning of your humanist wedding or blessing in the beautiful walled gardens.

Castello Monaci is conveniently situated close to the city of Lecce offering beautiful options for those looking for a Church Wedding too.

With accommodation on site for up to 26 guests across the newly refurbished stable bedrooms (Le Scuderie) and the villa (Casina Metrano), you and your guests can enjoy the Castello Monaci magic to its fullest.

With the beautiful beaches of Punta Prosciutto, Torre Lapillo and Porto Cesareo close-by along with the historic city of Lecce, there are plenty of day trip options to soak up the beauty Puglia has to offer.
